Yes, the topic might sound close to impossible, how can chanting of any god in a public temple continue 24/7, but it is the truth, the Hanuman temple is in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which is very well known for this ritual. It is believed that this continuous chanting started from August 1st, 1964, and the chanting goes like this, “Shri Ram, Jai Ram, Jai Jai Ram”. The temple has also achieved a Guinness World Record.
Now, talking about the Kashi Vishwanath Temple, in Varanasi, is one of the important temples in Hinduism. It is dedicated to Holy Lord Shiva and is located on the western bank of the river Ganges. It is a vital place for pilgrimage in India and is also famous for its sacred waters. Millions of people visit Varanasi, just for bathing in the sacred waters. It is believed that bathing in the water is a great way to carry away the sins from people’s lives.
It was constructed in the year 1780 by the Maratha monarch, Maharani Ahilyabai Holkar. It is also known for it being one of the 12 Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Jyotirlingas are a devotional representation of Lord Shiva, and surprisingly, it is believed that Shiva once stayed in this temple for some time. The Kashi Vishwanath Temple also has three huge domes covered of gold. The temple receives around 3,000 visitors a day and on certain occasions, numbers can reach 10,00,000 and more!
Sallust once rightly said, “Harmony makes small things grow, and lack of it makes big things decay.”
